He Cares for You

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

—1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

Wherever you are right now—whatever you face, God never leaves you or forsakes you. He is with you. He loves you. God’s very nature is love (1 John 4:8). He is good. He didn’t cause your torment and pain. The enemy is the one who kills, steals, and destroys. Fear torments, and the enemy is the one who torments. Christ came so you could have abundant life (John 10:10). When you believe in your heart that God loves you, fear doesn’t overwhelm you. His perfect love for you has the power to cast out any fear (1 John 4:18).

God, who gave His own Son to die for you, wants you to give Him your worries and concerns and allow Him to fight what you cannot fight. He alone is able to save and deliver and heal. Don’t hold on to your doubt and fear—your pain and circumstances—the grief that hangs on. The New King James Version tells you to cast all your cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). When you cast, you throw as far as you can. Throw your problems on Jesus. Nothing can separate you from the love God has for you (Romans 8:39). Choose to trust Him. He fights your battle. He regains your health. He heals your heart. We are human and will fail. But God never fails in His love for you. Just believe Him in your heart.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things” (Philippians 4:6-8, NKJV).

Jesus already knows your struggles. Throw them to Him and refuse to take them back. Refuse to think about things that bring fear and worry. Think about things that bring hope and encourage you. Think about Him. Choose to believe He will take care of what you can’t. His peace, which surpasses your human understanding, will guard your thoughts and your heart.

Jesus never tires of waiting. You get tired when you keep holding on. Cast your cares on Him. He cares for you.
