Your Value to God

You knew you weren't worth anything, and you deserved nothing. But God did something incredible. He declared your true value the moment Jesus died for you. When you believed in Jesus' perfect work of grace for you, His value, His worth, and His righteousness became yours. You are valuable to God.

You experience fear when you doubt your worth in God's eyes. When you question your value to Him, fear prevents you from believing what God has promised you. It hinders your ability to accept what can only be received when you're at peace in your relationship with Him. Doubting your value to God—questioning if you are worthy enough in His appraisal—keeps you from trusting Him.

Don't let anything distract you from the value God has placed on your life or the work He has given you. Just as Nehemiah advised those who tried to distract him from his work, "I am engaged in a great task, so I cannot abandon it. Why should the work cease while I leave it and descend to you" (Nehemiah 6:3)?

Nehemiah understood the significance of his work. When you recognize the value of Jesus' completed work in your life, you become less concerned with the opinions of others, just as Nehemiah did. God's opinion is the only one that truly matters because He recognized the inherent value in your life and gave His Son's life for you. When you realize your worth and purpose in Jesus, you are assured of your value and your purpose. You don't abandon the work He has done in you. Instead, you are determined to carry out His purpose. You don't let anything distract you.

When you know who you are in Christ, you recognize distraction for what it truly is—a tool of the enemy designed to prevent you from realizing your value to God and living the purpose He has bestowed upon your life. If the adversary can make you doubt your worthiness to receive the righteousness Jesus purchased on your behalf, he can hinder your ability to reach your full potential. However, when you recognize that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, you establish a relationship with God that is unwavering in its right standing. You have God's assurance that you are valuable in His Kingdom. Consequently, the power of circumstances and individuals that attempt to divert you from God's purpose is overcome.

Jesus overcame the greatest distraction of the enemy to prevent Him from fulfilling His purpose. By the righteousness Jesus imputed to you, you possess God's resurrection power to overcome the enemy's distraction that hinders your work for God.

You can't alter what has already passed. It's done and finished. Jesus' death was a sacrifice to create a new you, saturating you with the value Jesus placed on your life. That's your worth to God. Jesus, who was sinless, became your sin so that you might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord" (Isaiah 54:17).

Whether it's your own voice, the enemy's, or someone else's, that voice that says you're not good enough for God, just shut it down. You were born again by God's pure truth and righteousness. That's what makes you special and blessed in Jesus. Don't doubt your worth to God. When you believe that God's righteousness is yours because of Jesus' perfect work on the cross for you, you will live in peace and confidence in your relationship with God.

"The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever" (Isaiah 32:17).

Are you at peace with God in your relationship with Him? Do you absolutely trust Him, or does fear distract you? Jesus' work of righteousness in you brings peace in your relationship with God. It also gives you assurance that you are His forever. When your heart is at peace in the assurance that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, nothing will deter you from His purpose.
