My Child

My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.

—Proverbs 4:20-22 (NLT)

“My child,” I hear. God has my attention. He is my Abba Father, and He has called me. “Pay attention to my words,” He declares.

Life sometimes keeps me from paying attention. But I realize He has something important to tell me. I need to…

“Listen carefully to my words,” God interrupts my thought. I should listen carefully to what He wishes to tell me. It’s important that I attend to what He has to say. And what He says to me is His Word.

“Don’t lose sight of my words,” He proclaims. Hold on to them!  Don’t lose what I’m about to tell you! My words are essential to your life. “Let them penetrate deep into your heart,” God directs. He desires me to allow His Word to change my heart. He wants me to believe what it reveals to me.

And then God blesses me with a promise from His Word which stirs within my heart and strengthens my belief in His goodness. “My words bring life to those who find them” He imparts, “and healing to their whole body.”  Oh, what joy! When His words encourage my heart and build my faith, they bring life to me! They bring healing to my whole body—spirit, soul, and body.

Here is His Word right before me. I’m on a journey to discover all He has for me.
