“The
fool says in his heart, 'There is no God'” (Psalm 14:1, NIV).
Today
is April Fool's Day, and many love to play shocking jokes on other
people. Those who do not believe that God exists have had the
greatest joke of all played on them. As this verse so aptly states a
person who doesn't believe in God is a fool.
There
is a God. He is the Creator of all that exists in my world. He is
author and the finisher of my faith. He is the sunrise that suddenly
floods my heart in the morning. He is the strength and power of my
day. He is the one who carries me through circumstances that are
beyond my control. He is the peace that holds my heart secure no no
matter what happens. He is the one who comforts when my heart is
breaking, and the one who brings hope when it is most needed. He is
my protector from what rises to destroy my life. He is my greatest
friend and confidant–always listening to the wounds of my heart and
encouraging me to become more than I have been. He is my promise when
the world screams that I have none. He is my rock and my perseverance
to hang on when my world crumbles. He is my victory when all around
screams defeat. He is the joy in my life that brings contentment in
all circumstances. He is my constant and abiding companion who
numbers my days for His purpose. He is the healer of my body, heart,
and mind, and most of all the Savior of my soul.
He
is so much more than all of this. I would be a fool to not believe.
