Healed

Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, “Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.”

—John 7:38 (NLT)

After days in the hospital, I was informed that I have something called SIADH, which can rid my body of sodium. Syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion—SIADH—is a condition in which the body makes too much antidiuretic hormone—ADH. This hormone helps the kidneys control the amount of water your body loses through urine. SIADH causes the body to retain too much water. ADH is a substance produced naturally in an area of the brain called the hypothalamus. It is then released by the pituitary gland at the base of the brain. I will have this problem forever, one doctor says, but, praise God, the second doctor is more positive. I didn’t ask the second doctor for a prognosis. God sent His Word and healed me.

Perhaps, I’m not physically experiencing His perfect healing right now, but I know my Savior has healed me. Without a doubt, I believe Jesus healed me when He gave His life for me. My body is in the process of receiving this Truth. Right now, I live my life carefully as the doctors have indicated I need to do—consuming no more than forty-eight ounces of liquid in a 24-hour period—drinking a special medical drink that the nephrologist says will help my body maintain a safe sodium level—avoiding hot temperatures and exposure as much as possible. The list goes on and on. Does this depress me? No! I’m alive! I believe His Word. He is my healer. There isn’t anything more uplifting than this Truth!

I read this Scripture from John 7:38. Anyone who believes in Jesus can come and drink of His living water!  And that is what I do each day now—drink fully of His living water. He is my priority. My spiritual thirst is satisfied with His Truth, and the physical thirst I have on forty-eight ounces a day fades away. I ask Him for more wisdom to share. He gives generously. I pray each day that rivers of living water will pour from my heart into each word I write. His living water is my sustenance and guarantee of healing. 

Where are you right now?  If you aren’t physically sick, what about emotionally?  Do you deal with a lot of fear? Do you struggle to hold on to peace?  When Jesus is first in your life, His Truth guards your life. You rest in His peace because you believe who you are in Him. You are healed in His perfect love.

“My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body” (Proverbs 4:20-22, NLT).

His Words are LIFE to those who find them! They are HEALING to the WHOLE body. Let His Words penetrate deeply into your heart. Hold on to them. You will believe in what can’t be seen or heard or felt. You will know beyond any doubt that He, who gave His life for you, healed you the moment He said, “It is finished.”
