Faith Not Doubt

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

—Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)

Take hold of your faith in Jesus. Believe who He is in you. Speak your hope without doubting or wavering. Do you believe God is faithful to do as He promises, or do you doubt Him? Doubt comes against the power of faith. The opposite of doubt is certainty—belief—confidence—trust. What God promises is certain. When you place trust in God, your faith grows. Confidence grows. And you find it easier to believe in God’s promises even when they haven’t happened.

Believing is the answer to receive from God. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:23-24, NKJV). Don’t doubt your mountain will move. Believe that what you ask will be done. When you pray, believing, you will receive, you shall receive.

What hope has God placed within your heart? You can believe it without doubting. God is not going to pour confident trust into your heart so that you can believe Him. Believing comes by applying faith in the goodness of God. God keeps His promises. He doesn’t lie. You choose not to doubt and to believe by faith in the evidence of what you can’t see right now. God has already done the work in His realm. For it to be real in yours, you place confident trust in God and believe Him.

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:6-8, NKJV). A person who can’t make up his mind to believe one way or the other is unstable. He doesn’t know what He thinks. How can this man receive God’s promise if he doesn’t really understand what He believes?

“As you have believed,” Jesus told the centurion, “it will be done for you” (Matthew 8:13, NKJV). And in the next hour, the centurion’s servant was healed. “Daughter, your faith has made you well,” Jesus told the woman who touched His garment (Mark 5:34, NKJV). And she was made whole.

What do you believe God has promised you?  And do you believe strongly—without doubting or wavering? Do you speak your hope? The power of life or death is in what you speak. You will experience the result of what you confess and believe (Proverbs 18:21). Declare and speak your hope without wavering. Your God, who promised you, is faithful.
