Valuable to God

You knew you had no value. You knew you deserved nothing, but God did something greater than your brokenness. He declared your true worth the moment Jesus died for you. When you believed by faith in Jesus’ finished work of grace, His value—His worth—His righteousness became your value, your worth, and your righteousness. You are valuable to God

You experience fear when you question your value to God. When you question your worth to Him, fear keeps you from believing what God has promised you in His Word. It keeps you from receiving what can only be received when you are at peace in your relationship with Him. Doubt in your value to God—doubt in your right standing with Him—keeps you from believing in His faithfulness to you.

Don’t allow anything to distract you from the value God has put on your life. Don’t let anything distract you from what God has given you to accomplish. Just as Nehemiah told those who came to distract him from his work, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you” (Nehemiah 6:3)?

Nehemiah knew the value of his work. When you know your value to God, you will be unconcerned about the opinions of others just as Nehemiah was. You will be assured of your worth and of your purpose. You will not turn from who you are in Christ or from the purpose God has given you. You will not allow anything to distract you.

When you know who you are in Christ, you see distraction for what it is—a tool of the enemy to question your value to God. You see distraction as a tool of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy your trust in God’s faithfulness to use you. When you believe in the righteousness that is yours in Christ, you have a relationship with God that does not doubt its right standing. The power of things and people to pull you away from God’s purpose in your life will be overcome.

Jesus overcame the greatest distraction of the enemy to keep Him from His purpose. By the righteousness Jesus credited to you, you have God’s resurrection power to overcome the distraction of the enemy attempting to keep you from God’s work.

You can’t change what is past. It is done. It is finished. Jesus died to make you a new creation—to give you the value God placed on His life. That is your value to God. That is your worth to God. Jesus who had no sin became your sin so you might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).

Whether it is your voice or the voice of another rising up against God’s work in your life, “condemn” the voice that says you are not good enough to be used by God. You are born again of God’s incorruptible truth. You are born again in God’s righteousness. This is your heritage and your inherent blessing in Jesus. Don’t question your value to God. When you believe the righteousness of God is yours in the finished work of Jesus, you live confidently in the peace of your relationship with God.

“The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever” (Psalm 32:17).
