“Blessed is the man whose meditates in the Word of God day and night,” David wrote in Psalm 1:1-2.
Meditating on the Word of God blesses us. It brings increase in our lives. Increase implies abundance, and abundance must be managed. Blessings call for our time. The more blessed we are, the busier we are.
God’s blessings of joy and peace make life easier. But material blessings and opportunities need our time. They make our lives busier.
Who has worked harder? The person with a thirty-fold increase or the one with a hundred-fold increase.? The more the increase, the more effort involved in the harvest. However, you can lose some blessings out of a lack of obedience.
“The Lord will command the blessing on you, …and in all to which you set your hand” (Deuteronomy 28:8).
The Lord commands the blessing in all to which you set your hand. Missed opportunities will keep you from receiving God’s blessing. A decision not to go through open doors that require your time and effort will limit His blessings in your life. But when you are obedient to the faith of Jesus, you recognize the available opportunities and go through the doors that open. Whatever you do shall prosper (Psalm 1:3).
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29).
God’s purpose for your life is never withdrawn. The gifts—the blessings of God—are never revoked. You can expect His favor, divine appointments, power, inspiration, and opportunities. God’s blessing is on your unique purpose. BUT remember, with His blessing comes the time and effort required. The blessing requires your faith and obedience.
How much favor would you like to receive? How much time and effort are you willing to give to God’s blessing? Just as grace for His blessing is yours through faith, so is the grace for the time and effort needed to manage it.
Though you once were disobedient, you now have obtained mercy through Jesus Christ (Romans 11:30). You have been blessed through His obedience to death on the cross.
My brother and sister in Christ, you have been blessed to bless! Bless Jesus! Be obedient to the faith!
