HIS CALLING, MY SURRENDER

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9, NIV).

The Lord has planned every step in life for me. He alone judges my progress. Other people may question because they do not understand. I must never judge my own work for the Lord by what others accomplish or even by what they don't accomplish. My calling is to accomplish the work He has given me. I will move forward in His strength and with a great sense of freedom from what anyone else thinks. My way is His own. No one designs it but God, and He is the only one I must answer to. I am free in Him to accomplish more than I ever believed possible.

Never will I question a task He has set before me! It is not for me to decide, but for Him. An experienced teacher would never give a student a job that was beyond his capability. He is my teacher and He knows what I can master when I rely on Him. When I feel I have no strength for a work, then that work is just what I need to stretch me and move me out of my comfort zone. He gives me His strength when I surrender my own weakness( 2 Corinthians 12:10). If I wait to feel strong, then I am a coward. He does provide strength for my calling, but not in the moment I hesitate. His strength flows into me the moment I step forward believing He will provide all that I lack. I cannot say “no” to Him because I feel I have nothing to give. It is not humility to hesitate to do His work. It is a lack of faith in Him.

“God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty—never canceled, never rescinded” Romans 11:29, MSG). His calling is always before me. His gifts to accomplish my work for Him are always provided. What I do with His calling in my life is my decision. But I cannot reason an excuse. I cannot say that I know what is best, and that I am too weak. “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength” (1 Corinthians 1:25, NIV).

Today I move forward in His will, and I know whatever I see or whatever I feel or whatever I hear doesn't matter. If I yield to His calling, He will accomplish all that He desires, and that is more than enough. That is everything.
