Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.
—Matthew 18:19-20 (NKJV)
Tonight there were just a few of us gathered in our cars in the parking lot at RMC Medical Center. We had come together to pray for the medical personnel working tirelessly with all patients—those with COVID-19 and those without it. Some flashed hazard lights to let others know they were praying. Others didn’t. Even though we sat in our own cars, we had a bond and a purpose in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said where two or more agree concerning anything they ask, it would be done by His Father in heaven. And tonight we agreed for Holy Spirit strength, divine wisdom for doctors and nurses, patience, kindness, goodness, and grace for all the staff at the hospital. We prayed for them to experience miracles and encouragement from the healing presence of God in their midst. And we prayed the breath of the Spirit would breathe new life into each patient—sweeping the rooms, the halls, and every corner and crevice. We prayed believing by faith that God would arise in the midst of this nightmare and make His power known. We prayed believing that where two or more were gathered, He was with us—responding to our requests.
Always remember the power of agreement in prayer. And always remember that where two or more are gathered—whether holding hands or in their cars—the Holy Spirit is in their midst. What they ask will be done by their Father in heaven.
Praise you, Jesus, for not only hearing our prayers but always being true to your Word. It does not return void but accomplishes exactly the purpose for which you sent it.
