At Work in Me

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
—Ephesians 3:14-21 (NLT)

You can get discouraged when you’re healing from one health issue and suddenly you have a new one that could take six months to heal. These verses encourage me this morning. And I need it. I was looking forward to living again after weeks of confinement in the house.

In my heart, I bow on my knees before my Father asking Him for inner strength to rise to this new challenge. Whether I feel great or not, the Holy Spirit lives in me. I trust Him and will have a positive attitude. I believe by faith in His healing. This is a time of recovery not only physically but also spiritually. My Father constantly teaches me through His Word, and I’m strengthened by His Truth.

I’m so thankful that I chose years ago to allow the Holy Spirit to ground me in His love. Without His Grace, I wouldn’t have any faith to be grounded in His Truth. Then I wouldn’t trust Him during this hard time. His love is greater than my comprehension. I choose to trust what I don’t understand at this moment and leave this healing process in His hands.

I praise Him that I’m learning the depth, height, and length of His love for me! I’m filled daily with all His fullness and Truth for my life. He does abundantly more that I ask or think!  And that is because of His power at work in me. To Jesus be all the glory!
