His Word—True or Not

For the Word of the Lord holds true,

and we can trust everything he does.

—Psalm 33:4 (NLT)

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word gave life to everything God created” (John 1:1,4, NLT).

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8, NLT).

“Make them holy by your Truth,” Jesus prayed for His disciples and also for us. “Teach them your Word, which is Truth” (John 17:17, NLT).

The Word existed before creation and gave life to everything God created. The Word breathes Truth. Through all of life's changes, the Word never changes. It remains factual forever.  Jesus prayed for His disciples to be made holy by God’s Truth. He prayed that the Holy Spirit would teach them God's Word, which, he declared to be God's Truth.

Do you believe that God’s Word is Truth?  Either His Word is true, or it isn't. You decide to believe it and act upon that belief, or you don’t.

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my Word,” God says. “I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it” Isaiah 55:10-11, NLT).

God’s Truth has a purpose. When we believe what His Truth reveals, it grows us spiritually. And we receive according to what we believe. His Word produces fruit in our lives. It accomplishes what it says it will do and prospers whatever it brings into being. We can trust everything God does because what He does is born of Truth.

Do we live as if His Word is Truth? Look at Proverbs 4:20-24. “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body” (NLT).

Do we believe that His Word brings healing to the whole body? When His Word flourishes within us, it has the power to do exactly what these verses in Proverbs 4 reveal—to heal us. We believe in what He has shown us in His Word. Our faith applied to what the Word reveals to us releases its power. Without faith, we can't please God. He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). God is the Word. When God’s Word penetrates our souls, the Holy Spirit changes the impossible we see into the Truth God speaks.

What does God speak? “He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death” (Proverbs 107:20, NLT). This is an incredible Truth that God speaks.

Are you ready to stand on the Word?  The Word saves. The Word heals. The Word provides. The Word gives new life. The Word of God stands forever. Believe in His Truth. Live the Truth that you believe. The power of life is in your tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Speak the Truth of His Word and receive what Christ purchased for you with His life.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5, NLT). Jesus purchased our salvation and healing.

“Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm” (Isaiah 53:1, NLT)?  Has He revealed the Truth of His Word to you?  Do you believe that Christ healed you when He saved you? Hold tightly without wavering to the hope you affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise (Hebrews 10:23, NLT).
