O God of Heaven’s Armies. Look down from heaven and see
our plight. Take care of this grapevine that you yourself have planted, this
son you have raised for yourself.
—Psalm 80:14a-15 NLT
Lord, at times life presses hard. Sometimes it takes my
breath away. But I never forget you have created me, and you are my heart. I am
only a grapevine that you have planted—a branch of the Master Vine that wishes
to carry life to those you have entrusted to me. In you alone I find my
strength and purpose. You know where I am in this moment, and you know my
plight. You have raised me to take this journey with you.
Life happens. Change means that what I have known in this
life is no more. When life changes for the worse, I may grieve the loss of what
I believed would last. But I still praise you. When it changes for the better,
I know you rejoice with me. No matter what happens, Lord, you are my constant and
sure foundation. I abide in you; you abide in me. You are my cornerstone of
faith—my constant foundation who never changes. I trust in you.
O God of Heaven’s Armies, you plough my way—you bring down
mountains. Whatever lies ahead—whatever change, you make a way to provide
exactly what is needed for my journey. You supply all the resources needed. I
am your child, and you will never forsake or abandon me. I praise you for this
spiritual peace. It is your perfect gift—to know that whatever happens you are
the life-giving Master Vine, who has purposed my life for this time.
